LACEA’s Latin American Urban Economics Network LAUrban is pleased to announce a call for papers for the 1st LAUrban Annual Meeting to be held in Santiago, Chile, on December 2-3, 2022. The event will be organized with the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, our local partner. The meeting will have Donald Davis (Columbia University) and Fernando Ferreira (Wharton) as distinguished keynote speakers.
LAUrban is a network affiliated with the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA). LAUrban brings together economists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and other parts of the world doing cutting-edge research on Urban and Spatial Economics in the LAC region and economists working in Labor, Development, Public, Trade, and other applied fields with an urban perspective.
The focus is Urban Economics. We encourage the submission of original research concerned with urban and spatial issues in developing countries, especially in the LAC region. We will give preference to full papers. The scientific committee will select up to eight papers and all papers will have a discussant.
The deadline for paper submission is July 31. Acceptance decisions will be notified by August 20. Please submit your paper to urbanlacea@gmail.com
There will be no registration fee. We will cover accommodation expenses for presenters. We have additional limited funds for travel support, which we will allocate based on individual needs. Participants should indicate in their submission if they want to be considered for travel support.
